Incidental Transportation

Transportation is crucial to ensure that access to essential services such as medical care and grocery shopping are fulfilled. The availability of adequate transportation enables elderly patients to live independently in their communities, helps to prevent isolation and the possible need for long-term care placement.

At Universal Home Care, we recognize the importance to offer our senior patients this vital support service as a means to connect them to the outside world.  For those patients who have transportation difficulties or are limited in fulfilling their mobility needs due to being homebound, our exclusive transportation service will help them keep living an independent and productive life.

Our transportation service is offered to disabled or elderly patients and is intended for those who require visits to their physician or therapy sessions, need to visit the hospital/laboratory for testing and procedures, observe religious services, attend lectures/concerts, or simply visit with family and friends.

All of our caregivers are trained to prepare our patient for their trip, will accompany and stay by their side during his/her appointment (if needed), take notes (if requested), stay with them until they are ready to leave, and then return them back home. Upon their return home, we will remain with the patient until they are settled and ready to safely resume their activities.

Please note that this service is made only available to patient's who possess a vehicle of which our caregivers will be given consent to drive automobile on their behalf. In most cases there is a three-hour minimum commitment per transport visit and we prefer at least a 24-hour notice for all cancellations or reschedules.
